- I was in the kingdom of Tonga, observing and swimming with the majestic humpback whales. That day we found a settled mother and calf. We quietly entered the water from a good distance and swam slowly towards them, hoping not to disturb them. Eventually the calf came up for air. it was a very young calf, its skin was still white and very smooth. I am convinced it had never seen people before because it kept coming really close to us and making eye contact. Even though it was so young, the mother seems very trusting and relaxed and she kept resting, upside down, just a few meters below us
