- Description
- Humpback whales gather around the islands of Tonga every year between July and October to give birth and mate. Calves depend on their mother for food, safety, reassurance and learning how to survive. They are always staying quite close to their mother and the physical bond between them is strong. In this picture the mother is supporting her baby at the surface to help it breath.
