- Description
- I was in the kingdom of Tonga, observing and swimming with the majestic humpback whales. That day we found a settled mother and calf. We quietly entered the water from a good distance and swam slowly towards them, hoping not to disturb them. Humpack whales migrate every year to the warm sheltered water of Tonga to mate, give birth and nurse their babies. The Tongan humpback population has not recovered as well as others and is still vulnerable. It’s such a privilege to be able to observe those animals.
